Plain-language note: Sky Seating is a classroom tool built for individual teachers. It stores class rosters, seating layouts, and sign-in activity in a database tied to your account email. It is not intended for children to sign in directly — teachers create and manage accounts, not students. If you're a school administrator reviewing this for compliance purposes, see the "Schools & Student Data" section under Privacy below.

What this document covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information Sky Seating collects, why, how it's stored, and what control you have over it. It applies to the Sky Seating web application (the "App"), including its sign-in flow, class/seating data storage, and administrative tools.

Information we collect

How your information is used

Your information is not sold, rented, or used for advertising. It is not shared with third parties except the infrastructure providers described below, which host the App and its data.

Where your information is stored

Sign-in is handled by a third-party identity provider, and class/seating data and activity logs are stored in a separate cloud database. These two systems are kept intentionally separate — the database only receives your email address from the sign-in provider, not any other identity information. Each of these providers maintains its own security practices and may process data outside your country of residence.

Data retention and deletion

Schools & student data

Sky Seating is designed to be used by a teacher, not by students directly — students do not sign in or create accounts. Student names and numbers entered by a teacher are treated as part of that teacher's class data under this policy. If your school requires a data processing agreement or has specific student-data compliance requirements (such as FERPA in the United States), contact the account owner before entering student information.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.

Contact

Questions about this policy or requests regarding your data should be directed to the person who administers your Sky Seating deployment (typically your school or the teacher who invited you).

Agreement to terms

By signing in to and using Sky Seating (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

What Sky Seating is

Sky Seating is a classroom management tool that lets a signed-in user create classes, enter student rosters, design seating charts, apply seating rules, and use a random name-picker. It is provided as-is, for use by teachers and similar educators managing their own classroom data.

Accounts

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Your content

You retain ownership of the class, student, and seating data you enter. By using the App, you grant it the limited technical permission to store, process, and display that data back to you as part of normal operation. The App does not claim ownership of your content and does not use it for any purpose beyond providing the service to you.

Availability and changes

The App is provided without uptime guarantees. Features, including this document, may change over time. We'll try to keep the "Last updated" date current when meaningful changes are made.

Administrative access

The account owner (administrator) has the technical ability to view account activity, and to suspend, ban, or remove accounts, classes, and student data in accordance with the Privacy Policy above. This access exists to operate and maintain the platform, not for unrelated purposes.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose. Seating assignments, name-picker results, and other generated content are provided as a convenience tool and should be reviewed by you before relying on them for classroom decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including data loss.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. The account owner may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms or the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the revised terms.

Questions about these terms should be directed to the person who administers your Sky Seating deployment.
